Details of all lesson formats and courses are given below. One-to-one lessons take place in my teaching studio at a mutually convenient time, and for a regular weekly slot, I offer a termly contract for Music lessons, or blocks of 6 lessons for Alexander Technique.

Alexander Technique Six week course
In a small group setting, the combination of personal attention with the opportunity to observe and learn from other students enhances the learning potential for everyone present. Each course begins by taking a look at some of the key ideas in the Alexander Technique and builds out from these ideas through questions, topics and activities according to the students’ interest. All levels of experience are welcome.

Teaching Credentials
Diane studied Music at the University of Birmingham, where she majored in Piano and Composition, graduating with a First Class BMus (Hons) in 2007. She began teaching Piano and Violin in various tuition centres, including the Midlands Arts Centre (mac) while studying for a master’s degree in Composition, which she was awarded in 2010. In 2009 she joined the academic staff of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Junior Department, teaching Music Theory, Aural, and A-Level Music.
In 2012 Diane commenced part-time study with the ITM (Interactive Teaching Method Approach to the Work of F. M. Alexander) to become an Alexander Technique teacher. She gained her level 2 certificate in 2016. In addition to offering lessons and courses to the general public, Diane has held workshops at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Junior Department and the University of Birmingham as well as teaching regularly at the ITM UK Summer Workshop.
In 2023, Diane graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a master’s degree in Violin Performance, and added freelance performing to her professional activities.
Diane is fully insured for both music teaching and Alexander Technique teaching, and is a member of the following professional bodies:
